A specialist company

Timber windows and doors, done the way they were always meant to be. Properly.

Every window, door and floor we supply is made to order for your specific property. There are no off-the-shelf units here: we design it with you, have it built to our exacting standard, and fit it with our own team, so the people who measure your opening are the people who hang your door.

It means a finish that fits the first time, joinery that suits the age and character of the building, and a single point of contact who is accountable from quote to completion.

Our Story

A small family business with a long-standing reputation.

Bailey-Hague Joinery was founded by Robert Bailey-Hague in 2008. A fully trained joiner with more than two decades of experience, Robert first picked up the trade from his grandfather and began his apprenticeship at sixteen.

Today he runs the business alongside his partner Susannah, and still personally oversees every job, measuring, quoting and often working at the bench with the workshop team. It’s a hands-on approach that keeps the quality high and the service personal.

FAQs

Good to know before you start.

Can’t see your question? Call 01977 680 121 and speak to Robert directly.

What timber do you use for your windows and doors?

Around three-quarters of what we make is in Accoya, alongside oak and Red Grandis. Accoya is a sustainable, modified timber with an exceptional lifespan and minimal maintenance, and it carries our 30-year guarantee against rot.

Do your windows come double glazed?

Yes. All of our wooden windows arrive double glazed as standard, with a factory-finished paint or stain system that is fully guaranteed and needs only minimal maintenance.

What is the difference between sash, casement and storm-proof windows?

Sash windows slide vertically (or horizontally as a Yorkshire slider) and suit period homes. Casement windows are side-hung and the most common modern style. Storm-proof windows are a weather-sealed casement variant that resists draughts and rattle while keeping a traditional look.

Can you match a specific paint colour?

Yes. We factory-finish every window and door in the colour of your choice, and we can match to any paint colour you like.

How long does a typical job take?

Normally around 8 to 12 weeks from order through to fitting, though it varies with the size and detail of the project. We will give you a realistic timescale with your quote.

How do I get a quote?

Send us your images and rough sizes, or pick a style from our door gallery, and we will price it up. If you are not sure on sizes, we will arrange a measure.

Which areas do you cover?

We are based in Sherburn in Elmet near Leeds and cover roughly a 40-mile radius, including Leeds, York and Harrogate, travelling further for the right project. Domestic and commercial.

How long is the guarantee?

30 years against rot, 10 years on the paint finish, 5 years on the glass units and 10 years on the hardware.
